Easy method to clean stamps:

1. blot out excess ink on paper (dab, don't rub!) 
2. use soap and water & scrub gently with soft material
3. if wooden material, avoid direct water contact on wood parts!

1. purchase stamp cleaner pads or use non-alcoholic, unscented baby wipes
